Why do people believe Hitler was a Christian when according to these doents he was not?

His personal beliefs are not the issue, he was born and raise the a Christian country with a Christian culture and rose to power with the support of Christians. Those that believe the we should be a Christian country because it is morally superior to other faiths can not guarantee that it would prevent someone like Hitler from gaining power.
