Do most straight guys secretly hate being "just friends" w. a girl?

It isn't that we hate being "just friends." Any man, when meeting a woman for the first time, evaluates her as a potential romantic partner. Obviously, it's more likely that a rapport will develop with someone you're physically attracted to. Therefore, if a new guy is friendly toward you, there's a good chance he's attracted to you. If you reject his romantic overtures, he finds it awkward to maintain a platonic friendship. This isn't because he doesn't want to be friends, it's because he feels slighted. It isn't, however, difficult to be friends with a woman without being intimate when there isn't any attraction.
