Mother in Law who can't respect privacy and boundaries, how do you deal?

I went through this for the first 3 years of my marriage. She was very nossie (to the point of looking through my dirty clothes and checking out my underclothes) I did not live with her but she would come over here and there. Not to mention call on a daily basis. We lived a few blocks away from her. She would buy things for my house that were UGLY. VERY UGLY and would tell me where to put them. Anyways, we sold our house and moved 3 hours north. Now she doesn't bother me and maybe comes 4-6 times a year. But it did get VERY ugly. To the point that I was ready for a divorce. She would come to my house and when my husband was not around, literaly insult me/curse me out all because we were moving. Now she just talks gabage about me to my husband over the phone. I simply take care of my husband, my kids and home (laundry, his shirts, his food, etc.... ) and of course be as loving as possible to my husband. Remember that a woman has many weapons to keep her husband happy so that whatever his mother says, will go right through him. I don't know if you are religious but if you are, check out in your Bible Proverbs 31: 10-31. This is how a wife/mother should be. You can not go wrong with this. Like I said, a woman has many weaponds (kind, good) to choose from.
