Isn't Saturday Night Live supposed to be funny?

I have to say, I haven't watched SNL for quite some time as I'm usually working weekends, but I have been watching it tonight and find absolutely nothing funny about it. Is it always this stupid nowadays?! I used to watch it all the time a few years ago and it was hilarious! What in the hell happened?!
